Some Thoughts for Hoteliers in 2016

Happy New Year to all our customers;

A couple of quick things.

1. January is normally a busy month for forward bookings. Its almost like people get Christmas out of the way then say 'OMG I am going to Dublin/London/Paris in summer, i better get that hotel room booked'. So make sure your rates for 2016 are uploaded.

2. For those of you in the Leisure Break Market a popular early January promotion is for Wedding Facilities, mainly we suspect because so many people get engaged over Christmas. Over the last couple of years FaceBook has become a very common way of reaching out to this audience, because you can use FaceBook Ads to target a specific audience ie;
'People who are engaged'
'within a radius of x miles (ie 50 miles) of the hotel'.

3. Another common promotion in January is an Early Bird/Early Bookers offer, normally done with a promotion code. ie 'Book with a room before the end of January with the Promotion Code 'earlybird' and get 15% off rooms'.

Remember with the effects of the recession slowly dying away, the challenge in 2016 is not so much to sell rooms, but to sell rooms through the lowest cost channel. Have you already started to prioritise the channel you are selling through for summer?
